Hostel diaries 4

Hostel diaries 4

Everyone who has been in the hostel knows how irresistible it is to go back home after exams…

I remember, back in the hostel days, I literally used to count days remaining for exams to over. I used to start packing things up from the day one of my exams so that I can get out as soon as possible…

My father was a bus conductor so he used to tell me the timings of buses and I would book a seat online .

There were many things that used to be exciting in this whole “going back to home” scenario…

somewhere that was this ‘huh!’ that I would get away from the loneliness of being at hostel, at the same time there was the excitement of travelling overnight in the bus and going back to home…

If you know me, you would know that I absolutely like travelling at night…that sound, the tyres of the vehicles make while running fast on high way ..!!! and the whole silence around… the breeze splashing on your face …. Wawwwwww !!!

Not only that but I used to get down at my hometown at 4 AM in the morning .. and again .. I always wanted to wander in the night bare foot but I used to be afraid .. so getting down at 4 AM and walking back to home used to be a thriller …

As awesome as it was, I hardly liked leaving home and going back to Pune. I mean not because I had to go back to hostel but because my mom would give me tiffin ( which I always denied taking with me but carried anyway) and I never wanted to open it up because that would remind me of her and my papa and then I would not want to go back …

Anyways, let’s not talk about leaving .. let’s talk about coming back !!!

So yeah, I used to be so excited that I once mistakenly got into the bus that was going back to Pune ..Hahaha..

I mean I always liked to take stops in between… so that I would get to wait at the bus stand for the bus and I could enjoy that hurry of listening to announcements and reaching out or bus, looking at others..looking at the overall rush on the platform..

So even though I used to have direct bus, I would always take the indirect one where I would go from “A” to “B” first, enjoy my time for a while and then would get up in the bus from “B” to “C”.

I remember the other day when I was coming back, I got into bus “A” to “B” and I was on platform looking at one of the beggars and the bus came.. I rushed and got into it, taking my place … I was super excited as always ..waiting for bus to start ..

and it did .. After a bit, I realized that I’m into the right but it’s not going to Pune from Home .. it came from Pune and is not going back to Home …

Hahaha .. for a moment I thought of sitting in the bus and going back home but then realized I had my assignments and classes ..so got down the next bus stop and caught another one ..

Hahahaha …
